Overview

I have been designing fixtures for the past four years, and Cal Poly offers a course that teaches GD&T principles specifically for fixture designing. I have been applying GD&T principles for over four years as well. This page shows a few of the fixtures I designed.

This fixture allows for the accurate positioning of a cable-tie mount, qualified off a datum that is the edge of the metal part. The cutout allows for the exact positional tolerance limit defined in the drawing.

This fixture was designed with four 6-point socket adapter, held by the 3D-printed internal features to keep them from turning. A PCB can be set on the indented lip while the socket adapters hold a nut for ease of torquing.

This double sided fixture allows for the attachment of multiple components on both sides of a case.

This fixture was modeled off the 3D model of a part, and the walls were offset .02 mm to allow for different part variations.
