Work
In high school, I worked at a high precision machine shop working as a machinist and quality inspector, which gives me a very unique perspective and understanding of the physical manufacturing space when it comes to designing for manufacturing. This experience led to my studies in manufacturing engineering at Cal Poly SLO.
I have worked as a manufacturing engineering intern within the aerospace engineering industry for four summers, so I'm accustomed to working within high tolerances and regulations. I’ve held many different responsibilities, ranging from new product introduction to cycle timing harness production. I have developed processes for assembly, work instructions, and tests for Joby Aviation’s EVTOL’s, Zone 5 Technologies’ UAS drones, and W Machine Works’ helicopter thruster system assemblies.
In school, I am working on my senior design project to design, manufacture, and scale the production of a smart walker handle that senses a patient's force to help them decrease their reliance on the walker over time. I am also an assistant instructor for IME 1223, the process improvement course, where I teach how to decrease waste and implement lean process improvement in real world settings.
